Board Election Timeline \ Procedures

• Nomination forms out to franchisees with invoices during week of 09/05/05. (Form must be signed for at shop.)
• Nomination forms must be postmarked or faxed to DCP no later than midnight 09/19/05.
• Ballots will be prepared and delivered to members beginning week of 10/03/05.
• Ballots must be returned and postmarked by midnight 10/21/05.
• Ballots will be validated and counted by unbiased party and reported to Board of Directors at November Board meeting.

 

 

Property \ Casualty Insurance Presentations

• Fleet and Property insurance presentation presented by The McIntyre Group.
• Fleet and Property insurance presentation presented by TD Banknorth Insurance Agency, Inc.

 

 

Financial Review:

• Review presented by our auditors – Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, L.L.P.

 

 

Fuel Expenses:

• Cost of diesel fuel continues to rise.
• Average price for Southeast region on 08/30/2004 was $1.82 per gallon.
• Average price for Southeast region on 08/29/2005 was $2.52 per gallon.
• $.20 per case fuel surcharge added.

Center Updates
August 12, 2005

1. The "go-live" date on our new computer system postponed until October 15, 2005 due to start-up issue experienced at the Mid-Atlantic distribution Center. This delay also delays our new on-line ordering system that most of you saw in the training classes.

2. Monday, August 15, 2005, Ray Harper will be joining our team. Ray will be our Senior Purchasing Agent. He brings over twenty years experience in purchasing with "Demand Planning" software.

3. Center has changed orange Juice suppliers. We are now offering Tropicana Brand in two sizes, 48/10oz cartons and 12/14 oz plastic bottles. We did experience an "out of stock" on the 10oz due to the process of learning the proper demand for stock purposes.

4. Tropicana Coolatta continues to be big item with the consumers.

5. We currently have in-stock three new 64/3.5 oz. Danish Pastry items -
Item # 109216 - Cheese Danish,
Item # 109217 - Apple Cheese Danish, and
Item # 109218 - Strawberry Cheese Danish.

6. We have experienced problems in transporting cream cheese. Seems the cooler boxes are not protecting it from freezing temperatures. We have changed our handling procedures and it seems like we have solved the problem. Should anyone experience this problem again please let me know.

Financial Review:

·         Good participation with ACH (Automated Clearing House) on-line payment members

o        Automatic with new member

·         Emphasis placed to get all members on-line

o        Both ordering and payment

o        Review again in January '06

Commodities:

·         Coffee - No buying decisions required at this time.

·         Shortening - Very little change from June report.

·         Wheat - No change from June report.

Operations:

·         IDS implementation postponed until 10/16/05 due to issues which occurred when Mid-Atlantic went live.

·         Voxware (voice Pick) program postponed. Voxware interface problems with IDS at MADC.

·         Material handling equipment delivery date currently set for 10/31/05.

·         Senior Purchasing Agent hired and will begin on 8/15/05.

Radiant Program

·         Hand out distributed and information provided via Craig Setter's email was discussed.

·         Consensus was the "Sharp" system is Dunkin' approved, cheaper, and user preferred.
