STORE SECURITY AND EMPLOYEE SAFETY

Have you considered employee safety and store security in the design or your store? If you are remodeling, or if you are building a new location, here are some things to consider.
Windows
Glass can now be both hurricane and bullet proof. You may not need shutters, and you will provide safety for your emplyees and patrons.
Panic buttons
Just like in the bank, they can be installed within easy reach of the register, and can be tied to alarm company.
Surveillance equipment
You can buy state of the art epuipment that will allow you to monitor your store off site, and provide valuable evidence for the police.
Banking
Make deposits daily. Use a drop safe. Change your routine for making deposits, or hire an armored service.
Education
Hold training sessions with employees regarding the proper response for armed robberies.
Drive thru
Close the lobby and keep the drive thru open during hours you consider unsafe.
Security guard
Post a security guard in the parking lots especially in the evening hours if warranted. This will increase business as customers will feel safer.
Parking lot lighting
Make sure that parking lots are well lit. Cameras can be trained on the parking lot if necessary.
